Years ago, I ventured into blogger because it was basically the only blog that seemed to have what I needed.  I created several blogs on subjects I knew something about.  It was before blogger 2.0 and the ability to insert widgets in the template.  I searched the internet for custom templates because I wanted to have a 3 column blog.  I had a difficult go at creating the template and posting daily comments.  However, many people have been able to post daily comments and have an following.  After I realized that my limitations of not being able to post on a daily basis, I decided to just create a few general information blogs and they worked just fine.  I created one about resources I found useful on the net, one about life in the country and one about funny clips I found on the internet.  I also created one about ADD and ADHD info.  I gathered the info from around the internet and created a template where I could put the links needed and such.  I don't have ab big following or a lot of hits each day, but I do get a few.  The site has completely changed from what it was and it is much easier to create custom template with a lot of columns and insert gadgets all around them.  My daughter just recently started creating blogs there and she is running circles around me by creating sites with dynamic gadgets to do all sorts of stuff.  Mine were mainly about some content I thought were interesting and hers were about creating neat things to do and see at her sites.  All in all, it's a great site to create custom content and put some advertisements on.  I created pages that had banners from my cafepress.com store with links to t-shirts and such.  I also created a few with rss feeds from various sites i knew about.  It was a learning experience for me and difficult for me to stay interested in.  I would suggest it for anyone who wants to create single sites about single topic or would like to write a daily blog about anything under the sun.  My daughter says that it's better than http://squidoo.com because she can post on a regular basis and squidoo is more like creating a single informational page.  She has done both and likes blogger for the time being.  She is only 12, but says that blogger is easier for her to create.
